Artists and industry leaders gather at Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to celebrate a new national home for artist-led philanthropy

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 5, 2026) – Leaders from across Nashville’s music community gathered last week to celebrate the official launch of Music Community Foundation (MCF), a new national home for artist-led philanthropy designed to make giving easier, more strategic and more impactful for artists and their teams.

Hosted at Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT), where the initiative was born and continues to be powered today, the event brought together artists, executives, managers, agents, philanthropic leaders and longtime partners to celebrate MCF’s evolution from a Nashville-based entertainment philanthropy program into a national resource for the music industry.

“This night has been a long time coming, and there was something incredibly special about having so much of the MCF family together in one room to celebrate,” said Rondal Richardson, Executive Director of Music Community Foundation. “We’ve seen firsthand the collective impact that happens when artists lead with their hearts and trust us to be a partner in their giving journey. Last week was a celebration of everything this community has already accomplished together, but even more importantly, of what we can build together in the years ahead.”

MCF builds on three decades of philanthropic work through CFMT, providing artists, managers and industry partners with the infrastructure, expertise and tools to create and sustain charitable initiatives. Since its beginnings, the program has generated more than $300 million in charitable impact, including $213 million in new gifts since 2018. Artist-led initiatives have also generated more than $90 million in philanthropic support to nonprofits, with impact reaching communities in all 50 states and beyond.

That community includes some of the music industry’s most celebrated artists and leaders. This year alone, 13 MCF partners accounted for 30 nominations for the 60th Annual CMA Awards, reflecting the remarkable reach of artists who are pairing success on stage with a commitment to giving back.

Among those joining Richardson to celebrate the milestone were members of MCF’s Founding Advisory Committee, including Dan Rogers, Executive Producer and Senior Vice President of the Grand Ole Opry; CMA Award winner Charlie Worsham; Callie Cunningham Nobel of Red Light Management; and Kylen Sharpe of Creative Artists Agency. The committee brings together leaders from across the music and entertainment industry to help guide MCF’s continued growth and expand the role of philanthropy throughout the business.

“It’s an honor to help serve an organization that so naturally reflects the generosity of the music community,” said Dan Rogers, Executive Producer of the Grand Ole Opry. “For industry partners like the Grand Ole Opry, MCF simply makes giving easier. They bring the experience, infrastructure and trusted guidance that allow us to focus on where we can make a difference and then help turn that intention into meaningful impact.”

Wednesday’s celebration marked the latest milestone for an organization built around a simple idea: artists already have the heart and desire to make a difference. MCF exists to give them the structure and support to turn that generosity into lasting impact.

Music Community Foundation works with artists and their teams to develop customized philanthropic strategies, guide responsible grantmaking and create campaigns that can engage fans and communities around the causes that matter most to them.
