Dottie's Yard

Dottie’s Yard began as a way for Trisha Yearwood to honor Dottie, a rescue who found her way into her family's heart, becoming a beloved protector and companion. When Dottie passed in 2016, Trisha created the fund soon thereafter so that the love Dottie gave their family could keep reaching other animals.

Today, Dottie’s Yard has turned that story into practical financial help for dogs and cats in every state across the country. The fund supports local shelters and rescues in many communities Trisha touches, including small towns that do not always have a spotlight, but that desperately need support.

In its first five years, Dottie’s Yard has donated to 165 animal shelters in every state in the country. Grants help cover immediate needs from basic food, to support shelters rely on when stretched thin. Dottie’s Yard invites others into the mission, encouraging volunteer work and offering supporters a clear way to participate and help local organizations when they need it most.

Music Community Foundation makes nationwide giving possible by identifying reputable partners, handling the grantmaking work, and helping the fund stay consistent as it moves from place to place. That structure lets Trisha focus on showing up with heart, while MCF helps ensure the impact is steady, credible, and built to last.
